In the fields of radiation inspection technology, The Copper Wings has been inventing and developing tools and systems. Another field is the creation of electronic devices and systems in accordance with our client's requirements regarding radiation Effect testing.
For the evaluation of radiation used in space and other industries, such as Old coins and ancient Products, where ionising radiation might shorten the service life of the Products, Copper Wings Radiation Laboratory and Test Services offers specialised settings and test solutions.
The LDR (Low Dose Rate) Broad Beam A cobalt-60 gamma beam irradiator is housed in a radiation vault measuring 16 feet by 12 feet in the Broad Beam facility. Through a single divergent beam port on the irradiator, a constant radiation beam is released. By adjusting the distance to the beam port, one may obtain dosage rates ranging from 0.01 to 0.1 rad(Si)/sec.
The High-Dose Rate (HDR) facility is an externally protected annular cobalt-60 irradiator that offers samples placed in the source's centre a nearly omnidirectional gamma radiation environment. The source's central cylindrical chamber, which is 8 inches high and 6 inches in diameter, has plenty of room for irradiating items. For MIL-STD-883/750 TM 1019 compliant TID testing, a cylindrical canister with internal measurements of 6.25 inches in height and 5.5 inches in diameter is offered.
Our lab's applicability also includes test support for heavy ion Single event Effects (SEE) testing and support for off-site neutron irradiation testing for Displacement Damage Dose (DDD) under Test Method 1017.
